Mountain Dew and Trolli expand sweet-and-spicy beverage collaboration

PepsiCo is expanding its Mountain Dew and Trolli collaboration with a tropical beverage designed around growing interest in sweet-and-spicy flavors.

Mountain Dew x Trolli Mango Pineapple Punch, a limited-edition soda that combines mango and pineapple flavors with a hint of strawberry, seeks to tap into consumers’ taste for sweet and spicy flavors.

PepsiCo and Ferrera, the company behind the Trolli brand, debuted csod this month, in regular and zero-sugar varieties in 12-oz cans and 20-oz bottles. According to PepsiCo, the new beverage is designed to pair with Trolli Spicy Crawlers, combining the soda’s fruit-forward profile with the candy’s sweet-and-spicy flavors.

The latest LTO follows a 2025 collaboration that produced Mountain Dew x Trolli Cherry Lemon, which was one of the fastest-selling products in the Mountain Dew lineup.

“This year, we’re taking that idea even further with a sweet-and-spicy flavor twist that taps into a growing consumer trend,” Michael Smith, vice president of marketing for Mountain Dew at PepsiCo Beverages U.S., said in the announcement.

Why this matters for convenience services operators

  • The latest brand pairing offers operators a signal they can emulate in markets, offering bundles of sweet-and-spicy beverages and snacks.
  • Operators serving younger consumers or locations with strong demand for flavored carbonated soft drinks may see better sell-through for such pairings.
  • Compare regular and Zero Sugar performance to identify which formulation resonates most strongly with customers at individual locations.
  • Limited-edition beverages can create urgency and drive incremental purchases, but they also require operators to manage inventory before the promotion ends. Using such offerings as a springboard for your own bundles can create more lasting opportunities for profitable bundles.
