Trolli and Mountain Dew collab delivers two new sweet and sour LTOs
Two brands known for bold flavors — Trolli and Mountain Dew — are teaming up in a first-of-its-kind candy and beverage collaboration. The new beverage and candy are expected to appeal to younger consumers and could drive vending and micro market sales and ticket size through cross-category merchandising in locations with a large GenZ customer base.
From candy maker Ferrara comes Trolli x Mountain Dew Sour Brite Crawler, a sour gummy candy that has three flavors — Original Citrus, Original Citrus x Cherry, and Original Citrus x Blue Raspberry — in each bag. The gummy candy promises the “signature Mountain Dew citrus taste” balanced with the soft and chewy gummy texture, the companies said in a shared release.
On the beverage side, PepsiCo has launched a Mountain Dew Zero Sugar x Trolli Cherry Lemon as a limited edition. It pairs the citrus punch of Mountain Dew with the flavor of tangy Trolli Cherry Lemon Sour Brite Crawlers in a zero-sugar beverage.
“Mountain Dew is always innovating bold new flavors, making Trolli the ideal partner for a one-of-a-kind mashup. Together, we’ve combined two iconic brands to create the perfect sweet and sour taste experience that’s truly irresistible,” said Michael Smith, vice president of flavored CSD marketing for PepsiCo Beverages U.S.
The candy will be available through national retailers in August while the beverage is expected to roll out nationally on September 8.
