EPA Recognizes PepsiCo For Energy Efficiency Excellence

PepsiCo, Inc. announced that it has received the 2014 Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Award, which recognizes companies for leadership in protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency programs. It is the ninth consecutive year that PepsiCo has received this distinction.

PepsiCo's U.S. operations achieved a four percent improvement in energy efficiency for 2013 as compared to 2012 by applying new technologies and processes to reduce energy consumption. These efforts also delivered nearly $12 million in cost savings for company.   

"PepsiCo is committed to delivering performance with purpose, which is our recognition that business success is inextricably linked to society's success," said Rob Meyers, director, environmental sustainability, PepsiCo, in a prepared statement. "Reducing our use of energy and natural resources drives lower operating costs while also having a positive impact on the environment. We're proud to be an ENERGY STAR partner and will continue to prioritize energy efficiency across all aspects of our operations."

"PepsiCo's leadership in energy management supports the well-being of American families while also fighting climate change."

PepsiCo has been an ENERGY STAR partner since 2006.
