Snapple Launches Cap Fact Reenactment Campaign

May 2, 2013

Since 2002, Snapple’s Real Facts have appeared under Snapple bottle caps. Now, some of those Real Facts will come to life beyond the cap as part of the brand’s latest integrated digital campaign: “Snapple Re-enFACTments.”

Each week through the end of the year, Snapple will reveal digital content featuring a Snapple-selected collaborator chosen to reenact—or re-enFACT—one of the more than 700 Real Facts currently in existence. Famous digital artists, animators, filmmakers, chefs, game makers, and toy makers are just a few of the collaborators chosen to lend their talents this year to bring a new Real Fact to life.

Re-enFACTment No. 1 has debuted on Snapple.com, Facebook, and Twitter, featuring award-winning culinary artist Jimmy "Art Chef" Zhang's incredible edible interpretation of Real Fact No.760: A Dolphin Sleeps with One Eye Open.

“Real Facts are a central part of the Snapple experience, and we see them as really big ideas trapped in a small cap’s body,” said Dave Fleming, director of brand marketing at Dr Pepper Snapple Group. “Through Re-enFACTments, we’re getting some innovative, creative personalities to help free those ideas from that small one-inch space and bring them to life in entertaining and inventive ways that Snapple fans will enjoy.”

Each Re-enFACTment—which ranges from a photographic still, to a documentary-style video, to an interactive game, to a World Record-breaking stunt—will be a unique interpretation of a Real Fact. Following Zhang’s Re-enFACTment of Real Fact No. 760, fans will soon see Re-enFACTments of:

  • Real Fact No. 682: A giant panda can eat up to 83 pounds of bamboo a day
  • Real Fact No. 367 The “high five” was introduced by a professional baseball player in 1977.
  • Real Fact No. 237: The number of times a cricket chirps in 15 seconds, plus 37, will give you the current air temperature
  • Real Fact No. 230: Caterpillars have over 2,000 muscles
