7-Eleven Partners With PayNearMe For Cash Users

July 3, 2018

7-Eleven announced its partnership with PayNearMe to pay with cash using a convenient barcode scan at participating stores, according to cspdailynews. The PayNearMe Bill Pay app is a full-service bill payment center and allows cash users to easily keep track of payment history.

“Cash users are largely neglected in today's bank-based digital economy,” said Danny Shader, PayNearMe's founder and CEO. “By building a suite of easy-to-use financial services that are also easy for retailers to provide to their customers, we will make it possible for everyone to benefit from the convenience of digital transactions."

PayNearMe’s app is cloud based, making it easy for retailers to integrate it into their current systems. 7-Eleven worked with PayNearMe to create a unique and separate app specifically for 7-Eleven. "This app is one in a series of innovations that will take 7-Eleven stores from being convenience stores to 'convenient' stores," said Raja Doddala, 7-Eleven's vice president of innovation and omnichannel strategy.

Editor’s Note: As technology continues to advance, this new-founded growth introduces a way for cash-using consumers to get more involved. This is a great example of including a group of consumers who are typically left out of incentives and value propositions.
