Visa And MasterCard Consider Raising Debit Card Fees On Small-Purchase Products Oct. 1

Analysts say Visa Inc. and MasterCard Inc. plan to raise debit card interchange fees charged for small-ticket purchases, according to Bloomberg.

The fees would increase from 8 cents to 23 cents on a $2 purchase and would affect transactions at vending machine.
