Pringles launches thicker Dippers crisps in three flavors
Mars Inc. is expanding its salty snack lineup with Pringles Dippers, reportedly the brand’s thickest crisp to date, along with a new Sweet & Salty variety for its Pringles Mingles line.
Pringles Dippers are the brand’s first crisps designed specifically for dipping. The new format uses a thicker, wavier version of the brand’s familiar curved crisp. Its scoop-like shape is designed to hold dips while reducing breakage.
The Dippers line will debut in three flavors: Original, French Onion and Bacon Cheddar. Original adapts the traditional Pringles flavor to the thicker format. French Onion combines onion, tangy and creamy flavor notes, while Bacon Cheddar pairs cheddar cheese flavor with smoky bacon notes.
Pringles is also adding Sweet & Salty to its Mingles line of bowtie-shaped puffed snacks. The variety combines brown butter-inspired sweetness with a salty finish.
Eileen Flaherty-Yao, senior director of salty at Mars Snacking North America, said Pringles developed Dippers in response to common problems consumers encounter when chips or other salty snacks break while dipping.
The launches broaden the Pringles portfolio with different textures, shapes and snacking occasions. For convenience and refreshment services operators, the September rollout adds several recognizable branded options to consider for snack assortments as consumers seek variety beyond traditional chips and crisps.
