Danone cites high protein growth, plans North American product expansion

Danone reports high-protein growth across the Americas as it plans new dairy and plant-based products beyond protein to regain momentum in North America.

In its third-quarter earnings report, Danone said high protein products continued to drive growth across its Americas dairy and plant-based business as it works to regain momentum in North America.

The company, whose yogurt brands include Oikos and Activia, said its North American plans center on improved execution and a product pipeline extending beyond high protein. It did not identify upcoming products or launch dates.

Across Danone’s North American businesses, like-for-like sales increased 2.4%, with pricing contributing 3% and volume/mix declining 0.6%, according to its Oct. 28 earnings release.

The company did not provide sales results specific to vending, micro markets or convenience services.
