Wonderful Pistachios debuts chocolate-coated snacks

Wonderful Pistachios is expanding into the confectionery category with the launch of two new products, Chocolate Sea Salt and Chocolate Toffee, set to debut this fall.

The products are designed to balance indulgence with nutrition: California-grown roasted pistachios are coated in dark chocolate made with 50% cacao. By combining protein from pistachios with antioxidants from dark chocolate, Wonderful Pistachios seeks to satisfy sweet-but-salty and better-for-you snacking urges.

“Consumers are increasingly looking for snacks that hit the sweet spot, literally and nutritionally,” Diana Salsa, vice president of marketing for Wonderful Pistachios, said in a statement. “With Chocolate Sea Salt and Chocolate Toffee, we’re giving snackers the best of both worlds: the crisp crunch of pistachios paired with a bite-sized amount of dark chocolate decadence.”

The snacks will be sold in resealable 4oz bags, available first at Walmart stores through the retailer.
