DoorDash Announces Launch of DoorDash for Work

Oct. 9, 2020

DoorDash has launched a corporate meal solution, DoorDash for Work. Noting that the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our daily routines — including the typical lunch break — DoorDash aims to help companies who are seeking solutions to provide work-from-home wellness benefits to their employees.

DoorDash for Work allows employers to offer their employees food perks and meal benefits through DoorDash while also supporting restaurants, serving employees who are working remotely and those who have returned to the workplace. Employers can provide meals to employees through four DoorDash for Work products:

  • DashPass for Work: A subscription offering free delivery and reduced service fees
  • Expensed Meals: Meal credits paid by employers that employees can redeem while working from home or in the office
  • Group Orders: Aggregated orders for multiple employees that are merged into one shopping cart and one delivery
  • Employee Gift Cards: Gift cards that employers can give to employees as a performance perk or morale boost or use as a client gift

DoorDash is already working with a wide variety of business clients, including Fortune 100 companies, SMBs and essential businesses including hospitals and schools.

Operators with micro market and corporate foodservice accounts should stay aware of how delivery services like DoorDash are enhancing options to better serve the workforce, especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
