Water was a strong contender in convenience store sales this July, according to Convenience Store Decisions. Dasani 20 ounce water held steady in fifth position, while Ozarka 500 milliliter water moved up to take the 93rd position. Nestle Pure Life water moved up 40 positions over June. The number one seller for the month was a 10 pound bag of ice, followed by Hunts Brothers Pizza.
Editor’s note: Many micro market operators look to convenience stores for trends, merchandising and new product ideas. Water continues to be a large seller in both c-stores and micro markets, although consumers still like their soda.
