Michael A. Suco will step up to serve as Birmingham, AL-based Coca-Cola Bottling Company United Inc.’s next president and chief executive, effective Aug. 1, 2022.
Suco, whose career spans more than 26 years in the Coca-Cola system, is currently Coca-Cola United’s senior vice president and chief commercial officer. He will succeed John Sherman, who is retiring at the end of July. Suco will be the eighth president and chief executive to lead the company in its 120 years of operation.
Coca-Cola United is the second largest privately held Coca-Cola bottling company in North America and the third-largest Coke bottler in the United States.
The company underwent an epic transformation between 2014 and 2017, when it more than tripled in size and scope, revenues, number of customers and employees. Suco played an integral role in that transition, leading the integration of Atlanta, the largest individual market territory.
