Connecticut lawmakers vote to increase bottle deposit fee to 10¢

New legislation will revamp Connecticut’s decades-old bottle bill, if Gov. Ned Lamont’s puts his signature on it.

Last week, Connecticut’s Senate and House of Representatives overwhelming voted in favor of SB 1037, which by 2024 would increase bottle deposit values from 5¢ to 10¢. The bill also calls for accepting more types of beverage containers.
