Vending Machines Employ Variety Of Payment Options

Sept. 5, 2018

With different items being offered in vending machines, there has been a shift towards varying payment methods, according to PYMNTS.com. PYMNTS and Diebold Nixdorf’s July 2018 Self-Service Retail Study of 2,170 respondents reveals that 45 percent of self-service consumers pay with debit cards, 29 percent pay with credit cards, and 19 percent pay using cash.

Some operators are using various payment options to get ahead of the curve, such as gift cards and some companies, such as Reis & Irvy’s are considering accepting cryptocurrencies.

The demand for payment options is on the rise. Keeping up with consumers means offering a variety of payment methods.
