Second Amazon Go Store Opens Downtown Seattle

Aug. 29, 2018

There will be a new Amazon Go store downtown Seattle, WA, which will provide the same experience as the pilot on the bottom floor of an Amazon building, according to the Seattle Times.

Consumers must have the Amazon Go app, which provides a code that is scanned when walking into the store. This alerts the store’s cameras to track the consumer through the aisle and charge any item they pick up to their Amazon account after they leave.

The items at this location will be slightly different, as it is a smaller space. Due to this, there will be no liquor aisle or grocery staples like milk and bread. Although this location doesn’t have room for an in-store kitchen, there will still be fresh food provided by an Amazon kitchen facility in Seattle.
