Accent Foods Raises Funds To Feed Underprivileged Children

Oct. 23, 2017

Pflugerville, TX --- In September, Accent Food Services held its first company-wide fundraiser, Accent Feeds 2017, and raised $7,783 to feed underprivileged children. The initial idea sparked from a long-standing partnership with AdvancePierre Foods. Amanda Sulc, Director of Category Insights & Strategy, led the initiative. “We typically run promotions with Pierre on quarterly basis, but when Chris Allahyar came to us with the proposition to donate those promotional funds, I knew we had an opportunity to make this BIG!”

After months of planning with Accent team members, the fundraiser was announced at Accent Food Services’ Annual Leadership Summit in August. Charity Champions were selected at each branch to lead various fundraising opportunities, such as selling “Accent Feeds 2017” bracelets, “Make a Change” jars, and coordinating potluck lunches. Collectively, Accent team members raised a total of $3,108.39, and with a company match, this amount doubled to $6,216.78. Accent also placed Point-of-Sale collateral that detailed the September fundraiser (provided by G&J Marketing) and a reduced-retail promotion on the new Fresh Cut product line, sponsored by AdvancePierre Foods. “I know our consumers get excited about giving back to local communities, so what better way to encourage consumption, increase sales, and give back to those in need all at the same time!” Sulc exclaimed. In all, Accent Food Services sold over 3,100 units in the month of September, doubling their forecast.

Combining funds raised at the branch-level with donations from AdvancePierre Foods, Accent will be donating a total of $7,783.28 to various local charities, chosen by the team members at each branch. “I see this first fundraiser as only the beginning,” Sulc stated. “We are so incredibly fortunate to be able to give back, and it’s extremely humbling to see this company rally together and get excited about making a difference in the community.”

Accent Food Services would like to extend a special ‘thank you’ to AdvancePierre Foods, G&J Marketing, their customers, and their generous team members.
