The National Federation of Independent Business said its small-business optimism index increased 3.5 points to 98.4 in November, which is the strongest monthly gain in more than seven years, according to Market Watch.
The optimism index was 95.4 for those responding before the election and 102.4 for those responding post-election. These results come after Donald Trump won the presidency and Republicans retained control of both chambers of Congress.
“If higher optimism can be sustained, I expect that in the coming months we’ll see an increase in business activity, such as hiring and expanding,” Bill Dunkelberg, chief economist of the NFIB, told the source.
