Small Business Owners Give Employees Time Off To Vote

Nov. 3, 2016

Small business owners are encouraging employees to get out and vote on Election Day giving them flex time, time off or balloting breaks. According to Crain’s Detroit, some business owners are even opening operations later in the day to give employees time to vote in the morning. Though many states have laws that require employers to give workers time off to vote, there is no set federal law.

Editor’s Note: This coming Tuesday, Nov. 8, will you be giving employees at your vending, micro market and OCS company an extended break to get out and vote? Why or why not? Let us know at [email protected]. We’d love to hear from you.
