In Colorado, The Minimum Wage Debate Rages On

Sept. 27, 2016

The minimum wage debate is center stage for Colorado voters. At issue is Amendment 70 which would increase Colorado’s minimum wage from $8.31 per hour to $12 per hour by 2020.

According to KUNC, proponents of the increase say it would help struggling families, while opponents say it could lead to layoffs. Sonia Riggs the president of the Colorado Restaurant Association, told the source that of the 4,000 restaurant association members surveyed in Colorado, 80 percent oppose the amendment.

The Denver Post recently posted an editorial  supporting a “no” vote on Amendment 70 as well.
