Paramedics Use Vending Machines To Cope With Supply Shortages

Paramedics in Jackson Township, OH, have the option of dispensing medical supplies from a vending machine called UCapIts, according to JEMS. The fire department uses two machines, stocked with drugs and medical equipment, as a means of helping cope with a lacking supply of common drugs and other items while also cutting down on waste. The vending machines, which require a thumbprint or key card to vend, will warn paramedics when supply expiration dates are approaching and when supplies are running low.
