New York Legislators To Discuss County Vending Machine Regulations

A bill up for discussion in Suffolk County, NY, has been revised to require two-thirds of all snacks sold in vending machines to contain less than 10 grams of added sugars, according to the Suffolk Times. Under the adjusted bill, water would need to be placed in the two best-selling spots in each machine and other beverages with more than 25 calories per eight ounce serving cannot be placed in more than two vending machine slots. However, at least one legislator, Tom Cilmi, believes that companies should be able to offer items they desire and items that sell. Full article.
