CCN 51 Tree Could Replenish Dwindling Cocoa Supply

CCN 51, developed in Ecuador and known for its sour and acidic taste, could save the dwindling global cocoa supply market, according to The Wall Street Journal. Many chocolatiers have refused to use CCN 51 beans, however, with world cocoa production falling short by 174,000 metric tons last September, more companies are beginning to look at using CCN 51 due to its ability to yield four times as much as the world average.
