NAMA taps Nestlé executive Michael Schwartz as board chair
Michael Schwartz was named chair of the board of directors for the National Automatic Merchandising Association for 2026-27. Schwartz assumed the role on July 1 and will lead NAMA’s board officers and directors as the association continues its work on behalf of the convenience services industry.
Schwartz has more than 20 years of leadership experience across foodservice, workplace and hospitality. At Nestlé Professional Solutions, he works as vice president of field and account sales in the U.S. and as vice president of equipment in the U.S. and Canada. He also has held senior roles at Coca-Cola and Starbucks.
According to NAMA, Schwartz’s background gives him experience with issues affecting operators, including changing consumer expectations for access to food and beverages, as well as policy matters that influence workplace and everyday refreshment services.
“This industry is full of momentum, and I’m honored to help carry that forward as chair,” Schwartz said in a statement. “What makes this industry special is the combination of experience, ingenuity and a shared commitment to serving people well.”
NAMA’s 2026-27 board of directors officers are Michael Schwartz of Nestlé Professional Solutions as chair; Scott Halloran of Trolley Hospitality Companies as chair-elect; Matt Hubbard of Continental Vending as vice chair; April Cathcart of G&J Marketing and Sales as secretary/treasurer; and Patrick Moran of Moran Refreshments as past chair.
Newly elected board directors are Mike Gilroy of Mars Wrigley, Jamie Guadagnino of Vistar and Porter Hinton of Canteen.
Separately, NAMA also announced the 2026-27 trustees of the NAMA Foundation, its charitable organization that supports the industry through leadership, research and mission-focused work.
