Ohio Woman Sues Vending Company Two Years After Traffic Accident

Nov. 28, 2016

A woman in Chesapeake, OH, Deborah Ann Stewart, has filed a lawsuit against Kwik Kafe Vending Co. Inc. and the driver of a company vehicle involved in a traffic accident, reports the West Virginia Record. The filing comes two years after the incident happened, just within the state of Virginia’s statute of limitations on such incidents.

“We were unaware of the lawsuit as of the 10th of November,” Kwik Kafe company owner Scott Kiser told VendingMarketWatch. “After the incident, which was a traffic accident two years ago, the insurance company took over.” Kiser said he will be looking into the filing, but expects his insurance company is currently pursuing the matter.

Editor’s note: It’s unfortunate that after two years, this incident is being rehashed. It is a reminder however, about the importance of insurance for vending companies.
