Long-time vending Charlotte, N.C. area vending operator Bill Smith and a partner, Drew Schwartz, have acquired Indian Trails, N.C.-based Refreshment Services Inc., one of the area’s largest vending companies, from husband-and-wife owners Scott and Nan Vuncannon.
The Vuncannons launched the company in 1995 and built it into what many believe is the largest independent vending, coffee service and foodservice operation in the Charlotte market.
Smith told VendingMarketWatch he merged a 2-route operation in Indian Hills, Carolina Snack Services, into Refreshment Services, which now has a total of about 20 routes, six of which are based in a Denver, N.C. facility.
Smith, 57, said he has been in the vending business all is life and is now managing the company. He said Scott Vuncannon continues to help out on a consulting basis.
