Oct. 18, 2011

Apriva, a provider of end-to-end wireless transactions and secure information solutions, announced that Christopher Spinella, the company’s chief executive officer, and Paul Coppinger, Apriva’s president, will speak at the Electronic Transactions Association’s (ETA) Strategic Leadership Forum, scheduled for Oct. 25 to 27, 2011 at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel in Chicago. Coppinger will participate in the event’s Mobile Commerce Summit, and will deliver the presentation: “Separating Signal from Static: Virtual mCommerce/Mobile Marketing,” scheduled for 12:40 p.m. on Oct. 25. Spinella will take part in the Strategic Leadership Forum’s CEO roundtable discussion: “Is This A Revolution or An Evolution?” which is set for 10:45 am on Oct. 27.

“We are delighted that Chris and Paul will have the opportunity to share their vision and expertise at the ETA Strategic Leadership Forum,” said Stacey Finley Tappin, vice president of sales and marketing for Apriva in a prepared statement. “This event brings together many thought leaders within the payments industry, and is a perfect forum for our CEO and president to provide insight on the evolving dynamics that are affecting the payments industry.”

In his presentation “Separating Signal from Static: Virtual mCommerce/Mobile Marketing,” Coppinger is expected to share Apriva’s vision on the direction and practical adoption of emerging mobile payment solutions like mobile wallets, near field communications (NFC), unattended payments, and EMV solutions. He will also offer insight into the many regulatory and compliance factors that will shape the industry as more and more merchants and consumers look for mobile payment solutions as a preferred means to conduct business.

Spinella’s roundtable discussion, “Is This A Revolution or An Evolution?” will address the opportunities and challenges facing both legacy payments providers and newer entrants to the market. The session will touch on a number of subjects that are integral to the success of mobile payments providers, including evolving privacy and security mandates, the interrelationships between payments and marketing, advertising, and fulfillment, and the challenge of meeting customer requirements in an ever-changing atmosphere.
