Berkshire Natural is revamping the unhealthy snack image of the vending machine, according to Boston.com, who spoke with the company’s owner David Starr. Starr got his start in vending when he went to purchase a healthy snack from a YMCA vending machine but was met with unhealthy choices. Today his company offers trendy, health-conscious items such as dried mango, energy bars, black bean salad and yogurt, the source reports. “While some customers just want Doritos, Pepsi or Kitkats, others want organic, gluten-free, or vegan snacks – and yes, now you can get that from a vending machine,” Starr told the source.
