Jan. 14, 2020

Palm Springs Police Department in California announced Jan. 8 the arrest of a man who they said was found in possession of "hundreds of dollars in quarters" and burglary tools and provided a patrol officer "with a story that didn’t make sense," leading police to believe he had broken into coin-operated machines, KESQ-TV reports.

The Cathedral City, Calif, man, who had an outstanding warrant, has been booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, Calif., according to law enforcement records.

The department asks that any business or location that may have had their vending machines broken into recently, to review their surveillance camera footage and notify investigators (if you had a similar loss) of its burglary investigations unit by calling 760-778-8406.
