Colombian Government To Subsidize Coffee Farmers

Colombia's President  Ivan Duque has announced plans to create a stabilization fund to subsidize coffee farmers when product costs exceed international prices of coffee, according to Reuters.  Arabica coffee farmers have struggled as coffee prices have fallen to record lows.

The president's office said the fund would come sources including the general budget, state-backed debt securities, proceeds from royalties and international organizations and would be administered by the National Federation of Coffee Growers.
