'Pillar' of Hawaiian Coffee Deported To Mexico

July 10, 2017

The Daily Mail reports that Andres Magana Ortiz, founder of the El Molinito coffee farm in the Kona region of Hawaii, was denied his last request to be allowed to stay in the U.S. with his family and has been deported to Mexico. The Obama administration had previously given Ortiz permission to remain in the U.S., but in March President Trump’s Department of Homeland Security ordered him to be deported. Ortiz, 43, was smuggled into the U.S. when he was 15 years old to join his mother.
