Bad Weather Causes Vietnam Coffee Output To Fall

Jan. 25, 2017

Coffee exported from Vietnam is predicted to decline this year by 20 to 30 percent, reports International Communicafe. The general secretary of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa) indicated the country would likely only ship 1.3 million tons of coffee, compared to the 1.79 million tons of coffee worth US$3.36 billion it did last year, cites the source. The decline is the impact of El Nino, which led to drought in the central highlands and cold weather in the Northern province.
