OCS operators stress customization and creativity to win accounts
Office coffee service continues to evolve as operators adapt to shifting workplace dynamics and heightened customer expectations, say the panelists at today’s “State of the OCS Industry” webinar, presented by VendingMarketWatch.com. Both operators and suppliers underscored the growing importance of customization, flexibility and employee experience in driving growth across the industry.
Now available on demand, the webinar examined the data in Automatic Merchandiser’s State of the Office Coffee Industry market report in conjunction with the real-world experiences of operators and suppliers. The panel included:
- Gage Johnston, marketing manager at Franke Coffee Systems Americas, where he leads research, insights and thought leadership initiatives to shape product strategy.
- Patrick McGinty, the founder and leader of VendVue, a nationwide sales and marketing company operating in more than 300 markets, helping operators secure high value locations every day.
- Taylor Vaughan, an OCS operator and CEO of SPG Vending Solutions and co-founder of Company Coffee Shop.
- Gary Arwin, the president and owner of Gator Refresh, a Central Florida-based full-service refreshment solutions.
- Dan Welch, the owner and leader of World Cup Coffee, an OCS operator based in Portland, Ore.
- William Mandile, the client experience ambassador at Marché, an out-of-the-box pantry and OCS company serving New York City and Boston.
One consistent message from the panel: the days of “one-size-fits-all” break rooms are over. Employers are demanding tailored solutions that fit their workforce, whether that means café-style coffee programs, pantry service or micro markets. This ability to customize not only wins accounts but also increases invoice value, Johnston noted. Accounts need creative solutions, the panelists explained, to drive growth and boost ticket size.
