Jennifer Mann to step down from Coca-Cola North America role

Coca-Cola North America will see a leadership change August 1 as Jennifer Mann steps down and John Murphy assumes interim responsibility.

Jennifer Mann will step down as executive vice president and president of the North America Operating Unit for the Coca-Cola Co., effective August 1. John Murphy, president and CFO of Coca-Cola, will assume responsibility for the North America business on an interim basis. Mann will remain with the company through April 2027 as senior advisor to support the transition.

Mann began leading Coca-Cola’s North America Operating Unit on January 1, 2023. The company said the unit, its largest operating division, delivered revenue and profit growth during her tenure.

“I am grateful to Jennifer for her tremendous contributions to The Coca-Cola Company as an operator and leader,” said Henrique Braun, CEO, in a statement. “Her people-first legacy remains in the many high performing teams she’s led across the Coca-Cola business.”

Mann has worked at Coca-Cola for 29 years in operations, customer leadership, people leadership and global business roles. Before leading North America, she served as president of Global Ventures, which included Costa Coffee and Coca-Cola’s investment in Monster Beverage Corp. She also previously served as senior vice president and chief people officer, chief of staff to James Quincey, and vice president and general manager of Coca-Cola Freestyle.

Coca-Cola said it will announce a permanent successor at a later date.

Why this matters for convenience services operators

  • Coca-Cola’s North America Operating Unit is its largest operating division. Leadership changes can affect beverage distribution, foodservice, refreshment services and retail channels.
  • The change comes as beverage companies continue to focus their full-line portfolios: carbonated soft drinks, coffee, energy drinks, water and other refreshment categories.
  • Convenience services operators should watch for how Coca-Cola’s next North America leader prioritizes channels, customer programs and beverage innovation.
