Waiākea Hawaiian Volcanic Beverages earns Certified B Corp status
Waiākea Hawaiian Volcanic Beverages has achieved Certified B Corporation status, scoring 126.6 on the B Impact Assessment and placing it in the top 5% of all B Corps globally. For convenience services operators working with clients with social and environmental responsibility, offering products from a company with Certified B Corporation status demonstrates your support for these goals. In addition, health-conscious and sustainability-minded customers often are willing to pay a premium for socially responsible products.
Among the initiatives that helped Waiākea Hawaiian Volcanic Beverages achieve Certified B Corporation status are its commitment to 100% post-consumer recycled bottles, with its use of circular packaging in the form of OceanPlast, bottles made from 100% post-consumer recycled ocean-bound plastic.
The maker of healthy Hawaiian coffee and water products also built the 501(c)(3) Kōkua Initiative to uplift Hawaiʻi’s communities, and it prioritizes sustainable sourcing.
“We have been working towards this achievement for several years and are very excited to receive such an incredible score and certification by B Lab,” said Ryan Emmons, Waiākea’s founder and CEO. “We’ve always viewed it as our kuleana to care for the land, be a catalyst for change in our industry, and bring our community with us on the journey. This achievement follows our reincorporation in 2023 as a Public Benefit Corporation that is legally obligated to pursue our triple bottom line model that prioritizes people and planet.”
