Parlevel’s Cater streamlines food orders and checkouts for campuses, cafés, restaurants

Feb. 3, 2021

A new checkout solution from Parlevel Systems enables campus, cafeteria and restaurant food providers to create convenient ordering experiences for their customers. Parlevel said that Cater will improve customer service, boost sales and simplify operations.

Cater consists of a self-checkout kiosk for ordering, mobile app for purchasing on the go or ahead and campus dashboard to help managers make informed decisions. It also features Parlevel’s Kitchen Display System, designed to help staff to efficiently tackle orders.

Cater’s self-checkout kiosk uses an intuitive touchscreen that displays menus of all food and beverage providers in a location. From the kiosk, customers can select an item through the touchscreen or scan a product barcode for easy grab and go. Once items have been ordered, an RFID badge reader activates a rapid login to a user’s personal account to pay via preloaded funds. Alternatively, a customer can pay at a terminal. The payment is confirmed through a physical or virtual receipt.

Customers can also order through the Cater mobile app. Using the app, customers can see the cafeteria offerings on their phones, select items, check prices, customize orders, pay and schedule a pickup time. Upon order completion, the Cater app will let customers know when their order is ready for pick up at the counter.

Parlevel said that Cater provides operational benefits for food and beverage providers. The kiosk and mobile app can combat labor shortages, while powerful management tools help speed up orders and enourage upsells. An easy-to-use meal modifier dashboard pitches add-on to end-users, while an engaging and attractive menu display highlights popular items.

“The resident ability to service multiple café concepts with various ownerships in the same food court is unique,” said Parlevel director of business development Chris Stave. “And the Cater mobile app is a tool that can allow many dining spots to open much sooner because of the no contact purchase option.”
