Feb. 12, 2019
Lucas has certified four Android devices from Zebra Technologies - the TC2x, TC5x, MC3300, and WT6000 – that meet the needs of warehouses seeking to upgrade legacy voice picking systems or to implement voice directed warehouse solutions for the first time

PITTSBURGH (PRWEB)

Lucas Systems, Inc., the leading provider of solutions for intelligent mobile work execution for warehouses and distribution centers, today announced that it has certified five Android-based mobile computers from Zebra Technologies for use with Lucas Move voice directed warehouse applications. Lucas customers are using Lucas Move with Jennifer voice on Zebra’s enterprise-class TC5x, TC2x, MC3300 mobile computers and the RS6000 and WT6000 wearable computers.

“Many distribution centers are using the transition to Android™ as an opportunity to upgrade legacy RF and voice picking systems with voice-directed warehouse solutions that dramatically improve labor productivity, accuracy, and overall warehouse management efficiency,” says Ryan Birtwell, COO of Lucas. “Lucas’ support for both Windows® and Android across a range of Zebra® devices offers customers a painless migration path and the flexibility to choose the device that best meets their technical and functional requirements today and well into the future.”

Earlier this year a leading aerospace manufacturer implemented the Lucas Mobile Work Execution solution using Lucas Move voice-directed picking applications running on Zebra WT6000 wearable computers and RS6000 wearable ring scanners. The Lucas Move applications and Zebra devices help workers pick production orders more efficiently and accurately using a combination of voice and scanning. In addition to improving the hands-on picking process in the warehouse, the Lucas system also gives managers real-time visibility into productivity and operations through the Lucas Engage Management Dashboard.

Lucas is the leading provider of voice directed warehouse applications on Android hardware, with thousands of users worldwide. In 2014, Lucas introduced Lucas Move, their first voice directed mobile application for the warehouse supporting Android and Windows, allowing customers to use legacy Windows hardware alongside newer Android mobile computers.
