Apple Pay mobile payments will be expanding in Canada after the tech company announced agreements with Canada’s Big Five banks, as well as with debit and credit card companies, according to TheStar.com.
iPhone users in the country who bank with CIBC and RBC will be able to use the digital wallet for credit and debit payments while customers with Canadian Tire financial services and ATB can use it for credit payments.
BMO, TD and Scotiabank will add the feature for Mastercard, Visa and debit cards, the source reports.
Apple Pay originally launched in Canada in November, but only with non-bank issued American Express cards.
