Gimme Vending Announced As Finalist For TAG Business Launch Competition

The Technology Association of Georgia, Venture Atlanta, and Metro Atlanta Chamber announced today the 8 companies that were selected as finalists for the 10th annual TAG Business Launch Competition 2015.

This year’s finalists represent startups in a variety of industries, from agriculture to aerospace:

  •     Hux (@HUXatl)
  •     Local Roots (@localrootsinc)
  •     Synapse Software Systems
  •     TekWear (@TekWear)
  •     Terminus (@Terminus)
  •     Uniquely Virtual (@UniquelyVirtual)
  •     ZeeZor (@zeezor)

The companies were selected after they pitched in the competition’s semifinal round on March 17th in front of an esteemed panel of judges, including Evelyn Bolden, Joan Herbig, Melanie Leeth, Jeff McConnell, Blake Patton, Michael Price, and Martin Tilson.

The eight finalists will pitch in a bracket competition for the chance to win $50,000, a spot in Venture Atlanta and more than $350,000 in suite of services.

The final competition is open to the public and will begin at 5:00pm on May 11 at SCADShow, formerly the 14th Street Playhouse. The audience will have the opportunity to impact the results of the competition by text voting their support. Registration is available online at

This statewide program supports the creation and growth of new companies to aid in strengthening and expanding Georgia’s strategic high-tech clusters. In the next three to five years, projections show technology companies will invest more than $1 billion in Georgia. Cory Hewett and a group of four students at Georgia Tech created the vending technology startup company called Gimme last May. Gimme is a hardware and software combination that allows operators and route drivers to remotely monitor vending machines via the Gimme mobile app.
