Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium Transitions To Cashless

March 5, 2019

AMB Sports & Entertainment, which owns the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta United FC, will eliminate cash transactions at Mercedes-Benz Stadium effective March 10 when Atlanta United begins its 2019 home schedule, according to Venues Now. The stadium's move to cashless vending follows that of Tropicana Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays.

AMB Sports had decided to lower prices on some concession items for the year. Company officials said the transition will allow it to adjust pricing more frequently. Game-going fans can now use credit cards, debit cards and mobile payment options like Apple Pay at the stadium. AMB Sports will install machines at the stadium that can convert cash to a Visa debit card that consumers can use at the facility and at any other venue that accepts Visa.

Delaware North Sportservice is also furthering mobile payment at SunTrust Park, where the Atlanta Braves play.
