VisionLink connects cooler, freezer and ambient cabinet purchases
365 Retail Markets has added VisionLink to its 365 Vision Smart Stores, allowing shoppers to purchase products from multiple linked cabinets with one payment preauthorization and one receipt.
The feature connects transactions across the company’s modular units, including PicoCooler Vision, PicoFreezer Vision and PicoAmbient Vision units. Consumers can select refrigerated, frozen and shelf-stable products without a separate preauthorization for each door they open, according to the company. Shoppers simply present their payment method at a cabinet. VisionLink retains that initial authorization and applies it across the linked units. To open another door, customers present the same payment method again so the system can track their selections. The system combines those purchases into a single charge for each shopper.
VisionLink also supports customers shopping at multiple doors at the same time. According to 365 Retail Markets, the system assigns products to each shopper’s cart and consolidates their selections into separate transactions.
For operators, the feature connects purchases across the different cabinet types used in a modular smart store. The company positions shared authorization to support impulse purchases and operator-created bundled promotions. Its announcement did not include sales results or basket-size data.
Boris Amegadjie, chief product officer at 365 Retail Markets, said in a release that VisionLink builds on the stores’ modular design by connecting controlled access across cabinets.
