G & J Marketing and Sales has named industry veteran April Cathcart as chief operating officer. Cathcart, a longtime champion of brands and consumer-first strategies, will step into the role with nearly 20 years of experience across leading consumer packaged goods companies.

Cathcart joins G & J after a career spanning multiple categories and channels, most recently overseeing unattended retail for Mars Wrigley in the United States. In that position, she led strategy and execution for vending, micro markets, emerging business models and technology, helping expand team resources and expertise while driving growth and relevance for the convenience services channel. As an honoree of the 2024 Women in Convenience Services Award, she is known for a people-first leadership style and a partnership-driven approach that balances collaboration with a focus on results and value creation.

Beyond her company roles, Cathcart has been active at the industry level. She joined the National Automatic Merchandising Association board of directors in 2023, where she has worked to advance key initiatives shaping the future of convenience services, including innovation, technology and advocacy. She also cites her role as a working mother of three as a central source of pride, reflecting her commitment to both career and family.

National broker G & J said Cathcart’s arrival reflects its continued growth and long-term commitment to the convenience services ecosystem. The company highlighted her passion for brands, consumer insight and category development as key assets as it works with operators and distributors to build a more successful marketplace.
