Wilde raises $40 million to expand protein snack production
S2G Investments has invested $40 million as Wilde expands production and develops new protein snacks, the company announced.
The Lexington, Ky.-based company makes protein chips and crackers using chicken breast, egg whites and bone broth. Both product lines contain at least 10 g of protein per serving, according to Wilde.
The investment will support manufacturing, product development and marketing as Wilde expands beyond its existing products. The company said it is developing additional snack formats following the launch of its Protein Crackers.
Wilde recently opened a 130,000-ft2 production facility that, according to the company, increases its manufacturing capacity sixfold. It also reported more than $100 million in sales.
