Jimmy Dean is expanding its protein-focused frozen foods with bowls, sandwiches and waffles that deliver up to 40 g of protein per serving. For convenience services operators, sustained consumer interest in protein-labeled frozen items can translate to grab-and-go expectations.

Maker Tyson Foods says the Jimmy Dean High Protein Bowls are positioned as a hot meal option for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Pairing scrambled eggs with meats and cheeses, the bowls are offered in three flavors: Chipotle Protein Bowl with Chicken, Classic Sausage & Bacon Protein, and Zesty Monterey & Bacon.

Jimmy Dean also introduced sandwiches with 25 g of protein each, which the company says are the highest-protein frozen breakfast sandwiches in the category. The sandwiches include Grilled Chicken Protein Ciabatta, Sausage on a Spiral Croissant and Protein Breakfast Burger on Brioche.

In the frozen waffle category, Jimmy Dean Protein Waffles offer 20 g of protein per serving and are available in Buttermilk, Blueberry and Cinnamon varieties.

Tyson Foods said the new Jimmy Dean High Protein Bowls, High Protein Sandwiches and Protein Waffles will initially roll out to retail markets. Convenience services operators should contact Tyson Foodservice or national convenience channel distributors to confirm wholesale availability.

Why this matters for convenience services

  • New products intended to meet consumer demand for high protein meals and snacks are creating more all-day frozen meal opportunities. Broader daypart positioning supports meal-solution planning beyond traditional morning sets.
  • Formats like protein waffles signal continued innovation in “better-for-you” convenience foods.
  • While high protein claims can drive trial and trade-up in frozen single-serve meals, crowded protein messaging can reduce differentiation without clear format or occasion cues.
