Nestlé tests food changes as GLP-1 drugs reshape tastes

The shift could have implications for vending and micro market assortments as food manufacturers respond to demand for smaller portions and more protein- and fiber-focused options.

The growing use of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs may be changing more than consumers’ appetites. Nestlé is reportedly testing packaged foods with GLP-1 users, says its chief marketing officer, to better understand how the medications affect taste preferences and is exploring recipe changes to appeal to those consumers.

The shift could have implications for vending and micro market assortments as food manufacturers respond to demand for smaller portions and more protein- and fiber-focused options. Nestlé has already developed portion-aligned, high protein and fiber-containing foods aimed at GLP-1 users.
