Seattle officials note that brick and mortar retailers pay property taxes (provided they own the building) while food trucks do not. But the cost to the public for inspecting and providing safety and sanitation for a permanent building is much higher than for mobile vehicles. The lawmakers need to consider whether or not this is a fair measure. 12-02-11
