Butterfinger launches marshmallow twist for Halloween
Ferrero North America is giving its Butterfinger brand a seasonal spin with the release of a limited-edition Marshmallow Butterfinger. Redstone Foods Inc. is already taking preorders, and though convenience services operators can reach out to other distribution channels.
According to Ferrero, during candy flavor testing, 83% of consumers called marshmallow a unique flavor in the candy bar category, creating an incentive for the new Butterfinger offering. The LTO candy combines Butterfinger’s crisp, peanut-butter center with a marshmallow-flavored coating, tapping into nostalgia for fluffernutter sandwiches.
The launch follows the success of Salted Caramel Butterfinger and underscores Ferrero’s strategy to refresh core brands with flavors that appeal to both Millennial and Gen Z shoppers seeking comfort and novelty.
