Server Products Launches Touchless Express™ Dispensers

Aug. 26, 2020

This new line of motion-activated dispensers enable touch-free dispensing of condiments, toppings and sauces. The dispensers are easy to implement and reduce human-to-food and human-to-human contact.

Richfield, WI (August 19, 2020) – Server Products is expanding its existing line of Express condiment dispensers with three new Touchless Express™ models. These three motion-activated dispensing units are the first dispensers in the market that serve sauces and condiments without contact. Touchless Express dispensers use motion sensing technology to detect the user’s hand and dispense from either a 1 ½-gallon pouch or a fountain jar. Three models are available for pre-order: a single countertop unit for use with pouched condiments, a single drop-in unit for use with pouched condiments, and a single countertop direct-pour unit for use with signature house sauces.

The Touchless Express line was developed in response to increased sanitation measures due to COVID-19. “Reacting to both our customers and the 81% of their customers who seek eating establishments that have strict safety precautions, it became clear that we needed to pivot our resources quickly to accelerate the development of equipment that meets the needs of today’s operator while addressing the expectations of consumers head on,” said Al Corona, Chief Operating Officer at Server Products.

Touchless Express dispensers use PerfectSense™ technology to identify the user’s hand when held between one and six inches away from the sensor eye. This precise window allows users to dispense a portion smaller than the maximum one ounce by removing their hand from the field before the dispensing cycle is completed. The size of the window also prevents the sensor from detecting pass-by activity if the Touchless Express is placed in a busy location.

“When perfecting the motion activation for the Touchless Express, we had two main priorities. First, we wanted to ensure that the user could control the portion to suit their tastes. By halting the dispense cycle when the user’s hand leaves the sensor window, the user can dispense only what they need,” said Robby Burmeister, Director of Engineering & Technology at Server Products. “We also know how important controlling food waste is to our operator customers, so our second goal was to create a sensor that wouldn’t react to activity happening around the unit and dispense an unwanted portion.”
