Leadership changes at Hormel Foods
Hormel Foods appoints longtime food and beverage executive Domenic Borrelli to lead its retail business as it prepares for the retirements of two seasoned leaders in its meat division.
Borrelli will oversee the retail business unit, which includes many of Hormel Foods’ most recognized consumer brands. Borrelli joins Hormel Foods from Danone North America, where he served as president and general manager of the beverage creations business. In that position, he led a portfolio that included coffee creamers, ready-to-drink coffee and premium waters.
John Ghingo, president of Hormel Foods, said Borrelli brings a strong record of consumer-focused growth and enterprise leadership to the organization. According to Ghingo, Borrelli has shown an ability to drive results by staying close to consumers, building customer partnerships and providing clear strategic direction to teams.
In a separate announcement, Hormel Foods said Mark Morey, vice president of operations for fresh pork, and Paul Peil, vice president of marketing for fresh and ready meats, will retire from the company.
Morey joined Hormel Foods in 1993 and has served in roles across sales, marketing, general management and operations. Interim CEO Jeff Ettinger credited Morey’s customer focus, operational discipline and commitment to continuous improvement with strengthening the fresh pork business and the teams he led.
Peil’s career at Hormel Foods spans 36 years in sales and marketing leadership. Ettinger said Peil developed deep sales expertise before moving into marketing, where his leadership helped advance strategy, strengthen customer relationships and drive team performance within the fresh and ready meats business.
