Leadership changes at food and beverage companies often signal strategic shifts, new growth priorities, or a renewed focus on innovation and operational efficiency.

Kirk Tanner will succeed Michele Buck as president and CEO of Hershey’s, effective August 18. Earlier this year, Buck announced her plans to retire from the company on June 30, 2026. She will work with Tanner in an advisory capacity during a transition period.

Tanner will tap his food and beverage industry experience, including more than three decades at PepsiCo, where he ultimately served as CEO of PepsiCo Beverages North America. He most recently served as president and CEO of fast food chain Wendy’s.

"With a track record of driving growth in complex global businesses, Kirk brings a focused, results-driven mindset,” said Mary Kay Haben, lead independent director and chair of Hershey’s CEO search committee, in a release. “His deep experience in snacks, beverages, M&A and innovation — combined with public company CEO and board roles — makes him well suited to lead Hershey into the future. Kirk is a strong leader, earning followership at every level and is committed to engaging with employees, the community and stockholders to advance Hershey’s ambition to be a leading snacking powerhouse and to deliver long-term, sustainable growth.”

Gail Hollander, chief marketing officer at The J.M. Smucker Co., has announced plans to retire in April 2026. Hollander assumed the CMO role in 2023 following a 20-year career at Publicis Groupe, where she led the client relationship with Smucker, including overseeing the successful introduction ofthe  company’s data-focused approach to brand marketing.

“Gail has been instrumental in building our world-class brand-building model while supporting our people and culture,” said Mark Smucker, CEO and chair of the board, in a release.

Mark Gagnon was named vice president of sales for the South region for Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc., to accelerate growth across the southern United States. Gagnon, who rejoined Fresh Del Monte in June, will oversee commercial strategy and customer engagement across the region. Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. produces and distributes fresh-cut fruit and vegetables and markets its products under the Del Monte brand, licensed from Del Monte Foods Inc.

“Mark’s deep expertise in sales and strategic growth will be instrumental as we expand our footprint across the South region,” said Dumas. “His return strengthens our leadership team and reinforces our commitment to delivering value for our customers and long-term growth for Fresh Del Monte.”
