Maine’s Stonewall Kitchen acquires Vermont Coffee Co.

Stonewall Kitchen, a specialty food firm based in York, ME, has acquired Vermont Coffee Co., an organic coffee brand. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Middlebury, VT-based coffee company marks Stonewall Kitchen’s sixth acquisition, joining newly acquired brands that include Urban Accents and Vermont Village.

Founded in 1991, Vermont Coffee offers more than 25 blends, with whole bean and pre-ground options. It roasts coffee in a 40,000-sq.ft. facility. In 2018, the company the first U.S. company to roast coffee using 100% renewable biogas.
